Brand Identity Concept for an Indy Steakhouse

Studio: The Gettys Group

Culinary Craftsmanship

Challenge:

Gabardine is a soon-to-open steakhouse in Indianapolis. Inspired by the building’s history as the former home of the Kahn Tailoring Company, the restaurant’s story celebrates the craftsmanship of tailors—and of its own skilled chefs and butchers. With menu offerings like top-to-tail cuts and classic steakhouse fare, the restaurant needed branding that felt vintage-industrial and timeless.

Solution:

My concept is based on a set of marks I created to emulate vintage industrial maker’s marks, representing the personal signature of each maker. Mixed metals add interest to the concept, and a muted, warm color palette complements the interior design.

Results:

I designed this concept for The Gettys Group branding agency to present alongside other options from our team. Ultimately, the clients chose an amazing concept by my colleague, Sunjoo Cho.
